The Kids' Race, on Saturday, July 5th, 2008, is a FREE race open to children from ages 3 to 12. Children are encouraged to bring their big wheels, tricycles and bikes for their very own Criterium race. To participate, all you need is a bike and a helmet.

Bike races are run per age group (ages 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12). This is subject to change based on number of participants. Race distances will be based on age and ability. Parents cannot ride with child. All kids will recieve a prize for their achievement.

Registration Information for The Kids' Race

 

  

Race time is 5:45 pm, registration is from 4:00-5:15 pm. in downtown West Chester on Walnut Street between Gay and Chestnut Streets. Parents or legal guardians will be required to sign a race release form for their child (download form below). There will be a special children's staging area for kids to register and meet the professional racers.

After the Kids' Race, families are encouraged to park all bikes at the Bike Corral for safe keeping. The streets will be very crowded with spectators after the Kids' Race due to the upcoming Professional Women's and Men's races immediately following the Kids. The Bike Corral will be a secure area a block from the race course, located behind Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant, West of High Street, just off of Prescott Alley.
